And you ?"
A: "Take a guess ! "
O: "Um.......A ???"
A: "You got it !!!"
A and O: "Hahaha~~~"

I often hear this kind of conversation in Japan. The majority of the Japanese believe in a link between blood type and character(or compatibility) , however, there's still no scientific evidence to support this way of thinking..... I do not believe in the idea of blood type determining personality. If so, that means there're only four types of characters in the world !!! And actually, I often cannot guess his or her blood type at the first go, even if I know him or her well, or even if I have heard of it before. That's why I don't believe in it.....

Here are some of the characteristics grouped according to blood type.

Type O --- calm, strong-willed, flexible, blunt
Type A --- polite, cooperative, responsible, oversensitive
Type B --- optimistic, selfish, sociable
Type AB --- considerate, moody, eccentric, sensitive

Well, I have a simple question.
"Why can my friends guess my blood type right ???"

What is bird flu (or avian influenza) ???

I love "fried chicken", "chicken cream", "chicken curry with rice", and any chicken dishes . Chicken is so healthy food. It's low in calories, and high in protein. I often use chicken when I cook a high-calorie meal.

So now I'm really interested in the disease, "bird flu (or avian influenza)". What is the disease??? And what are the possible risks to humans???

There is the growing number of cases of bird flu in Asian countries. According to the latest news, North Korea has acknowledged that the bird flu has broken out in the country. The country reported that hundreds of thousands of chickens were burned before burial. But it's still unclear if the H5N1 strain was involved. (The H5N1 strain infects humans and causes high death rates.) North Korea is suffering from serious food shortages. The bird flu outbreak will worsen the country's food situation.

There is a risk of catching the disease when we have close contacts with live infected birds. Symptoms are similar to other types of flu. In addition, the virus could affect all parts of the body, not just lungs.

Well, then, can we continue to eat chicken???
Experts say eating chicken is safe because bird flu is not a food-borne virus. So at least for a while, I'll continue to eat chicken. I hope no more different strains of bird flu will be produced in the future.....

so-called "Rabbit Hutch"

Today is a lovely day *^o^* The sky is so blue and it's warm......
and above all, today is the birthday of my Da (pronounced as "dah") . We celebrated his thirty-first birthday last night. How??? Well, I gave him a present and we held a "Yakiniku" (grilled beef) party. Furthermore, we ate lots of snacks all night long.....hahaha (^。^;;

Anyway, I'd like to talk about so called "Rabbit Hutch" today. My Da and I are looking for a house to move in. You know, Japanese houses are called "Rabbit Hutch" (sometimes ironically...) , because houses in Japan are typically so small compared to ones in other countries. If possible, I'd like to live in such a large house with a beautiful garden as celebrities live in. Um....., wait a minute......No, thinking it over again, I don't want to live in such a big house.....I don't need any maids. I'll do the housework. I don't need a big pool in my garden. I'll go to a communal pool. I don't need twinkling chandeliers. It's dangerous at the time of earthquake. (Japan is prone to earthquakes.) Well, then, what kind of house do you want to live in ??? The answer to that question is quite simple.

1. Have an area of 200 square meters
2. Less than 20 minutes on foot from the nearest station
3. The price is within the reach of us.....

This weekend, we'll study hard to buy a nice house......<(^。^)>

I'm "Beckoning Cat" ^o^

Hello, everybody ! First, please let me introduce myself briefly. My handle name is "Beckoning Cat", and I'm Japanese. I am a interpreter-guide, and I'd love to communicate with people around the world. That's why I've launched this blog. I hope we can exchange our opinions about various things, including things Japanese. Well, today, I'd like to talk about my favorite TV drama, "Ed" ! I watched this drama through the satellite TV (SKYPerfecTV) . Unfortunately I only wathed the 1st and 2nd seasons . (Why can't we watch the 3rd and 4th seasons in Japan ???) But still, I love this drama so much. (In fact, I love this drama the best among the Amerian dramas I have ever wathed..... ) It's a heart-warming story and I can learn some lessons from it. I've read through the Internet that some viewers had asked for the 5th season, although it was not realized. I think it was a popular drama in the US..... Well, then, why don't my American friends in Japan know it ??? ρ(--、) Anyway, I hope someday near in the future I can watch all the seasons in Japan.
